Who we are
AFLCasinos.sbs is an independent review site made for Australian players, and you're welcome to contact us at hello@aflcasinos.sbs. We don't operate a casino, accept bets or hold anyone's funds. Publishing reviews and guides is what we do, and we make our money through affiliate partnerships each time a reader clicks one of our links.
What data we collect and why
This site has no account to register for, and simply browsing it doesn't give us your name, payment details or any other personal identifier. What we do gather falls into two simple categories: anonymous analytics about how the site is used, and anything you choose to share with us by email.
Analytics: Matomo
We rely on Matomo as our analytics tool to understand which pages people visit and how the site performs in general. It shows us which guides readers enjoy, where visitors tend to get stuck, and what we ought to fix. In practical terms, Matomo records details such as:
- Page views: the pages that get visited and the sequence in which you move through them.
- Rough location: typically your country or region, estimated from your IP address.
- Device and browser: the type of device, screen size, operating system and browser you're on.
- Referring site: the website or search engine that sent you to us.
All of this exists purely to make the site better. We don't sell it, and it's never used to build an advertising profile of you or to figure out your identity. Wherever possible we set Matomo up to reduce the identifying detail it keeps, including shortening full IP addresses.
Cookies
A cookie is nothing more than a small text file a website can store in your browser. We may use one to keep the site working smoothly and to run the analytics described above (for example, recognising whether you've visited before). You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time, though doing that may stop parts of the site behaving as intended.
Affiliate links and redirects
AFLCasinos.sbs keeps going thanks to affiliate partnerships. When you click a "Play Now" button or any other link that leads to a casino, you'll usually go through a tracking redirect that tells the operator the referral came from us, and that's how we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As soon as you leave AFLCasinos.sbs for a casino or other third-party site, it's their privacy policy and terms that apply, not ours. Reading a site's privacy policy before you sign up is always a good idea.
Email contact
Write to us at hello@aflcasinos.sbs and we'll see whatever you send, which is usually your email address and the content of your enquiry. We use that only to reply to you and to follow up on feedback or corrections. It isn't used for marketing, and we don't hand it to anyone else for that sort of purpose.
Data retention
We hold on to analytics data only for as long as it genuinely helps us spot trends and improve the site, after which it's either deleted or anonymised further. Emails are kept for as long as it takes to resolve your enquiry, plus a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Other than that, we don't keep personal information around any longer than we truly have to.
Third-party services
For the site to work properly it draws on a few third-party resources, web fonts being one example. Much like the analytics, these services may collect basic technical information (your IP address and browser, for instance) simply as part of delivering their content to you. We do our best to choose providers known for handling data responsibly, though of course we have no say over how they run things.
Changes to this policy
This policy isn't fixed forever. From time to time we may update it as the site changes or as we swap out the tools behind it, and each time we do we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. It's worth checking back every so often.
Contact us about privacy
